Hi,

I am considering buying the following iMac 5K (2017). I wondered if it was okay, or if there's anything I should be aware about either decreasing or increasing in terms of specs?

Hardware
  • 3.4GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz (this is the base selection)
  • 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 (I plan to add a 2x 8GB kit myself later total 24GB)
  • 512GB SSD
  • Radeon Pro 570 with 4GB video memory
I'm coming from a base model 2014 MacBook Pro Retina 13" so should be quite a good performance increase right?

The majority of the time it will just be for standard computer use, but I do have a view to playing the occasional game, nothing fancy maybe CS:S or CS:GO, those sorts of multiplayer games. I may also want to run a virtual machine on it. I would also want to be able to smoothly run Pixelmator, with a view to possibly expanding to Affinity Photo and Final Cut Pro X, but just as a hobby.
