Hello all.

I had a program a while back that got quite a bit of press. Weather for me. The purpose was to download the Weather for your city and place it on your ipod. However, weather.com threatened to sue me for copyright infirgment and I had to pull it down.

Now, I have switched to Weather.gov but the problem is that they do not have a detailed weather forecast for international users. By detailed I mean like this: "Tonight: A chance of rain, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low near 50. East wind between 14 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible."

My software is free and therefore I can not afford a premium weather service. If anyone has any tips or suggestions on websites that I can use (believe me I have been searching) then please let me know.

I had been going to suggest the BBC. They've recently launched backstage which is to open up BBC resources to developers on a non-commercial basis.

They do have a weather API - with a demo of how it would work.

But unfortunately on digging a little further, it appears that since the data comes from the Met Office, it's not yet available for public use. They are apparently investigating whether the Met Office might allow a version of it so if you don't find anything better, it might be worth checking again later.

Well, thanks for that. I'll keep my eye on it.

Anyone else?
