It's the only one you can buy from Apple really and still match the watch. There are no gold anodized lugs, or even 18K lugs for that matter available. You can't even buy the Edition bands separately.

I'm curious to see if Apple ever supports more than the Sport bands (and leather loop) for the Sport Watches. Or for that matter, offering any other bands for the Space Black SS (besides the Sport and Leather Loop).

I don't really care for the leather loop myself, and I'm not sure it actually qualifies as looking "more formal" than the black Sport band.

I'm thinking of getting one from mintapple (www.mintapple.co.uk). I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I probably will soon.

Their bands seem to be premium products and you can specify the color of the hardware, down to the level of gold sport or edition.

Here's one from Clockwork Synergy, they have gold lugs and buckles, but are shiny.

I looked at the website for Mintapple and their products look to be of the highest quality
Pulled the trigger on a black faux lizard watch band
Not inexpensive, but look very good and less than OEM

They claim their adapters are as good as OEM, we will see

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be. In bulk these are not hard to produce especially when they've got the original Apple lugs to scan down to the micron and be replicated. That's why it's shocking that Apple is charging so much for "official" lugs through their program, and especially not offering anything but the silver stainless lugs -- clearly designed for the small craftsman than the larger companies with resources to outsource to any metal shop.

I think the reverse is true. It's more for manufacturers who feel the "Made for Apple Watch" certification is important. Your "small craftsman" wouldn't give two hoots, nor would you.

If you guys get good lugs and hit your local watch shop they will have a good selection of real leather nice bands for not a whole lot of money. I have a 30 dollar band that nice nicer than 99% of the leather bands I have seen on the forum maybe even nicer than the apple one.

Use red loctite on the screw type lugs for a permanent fix.
