Hi everyone,

We're setting up our first receptionist at our office, and we want her setup to look clean, high-end, and professional - from the front and from the back, when people arrive in front of her desk.

Initially we thought of one big iMac, but we need everyone to have their own macbook.

So my question to you is, what tech would you choose that could make a desk like that look amazing to give a great first impression?

A few ideas:
* Monitor arms? This Ergotron arm (doesn't look great from the back)?
* This Twelve South stand?
* Which monitors look really clean?

Would love to have your inputs :)

I don't know of any monitor arm that looks great from behind. You are better off with a receptionist desk that has part of client side that covers the back of the monitor. This is just an example of the concept:

As "old" as they are..maybe the Apple Cinema Displays from 2013/2014? That way they can still have their own MacBooks, but can plug them into the external displays. Very professional looking even by todays standards :)

Nothing will look as clean as an iMac. It's also probably not all that more expensive to put an iMac at the desk and buy her a MacBook Air to be mobile with. Decent looking monitors, arms, etc. are pretty expensive right now.

How is the environment and general layout of the reception area like, if you don’t mind sharing? Any budget range? One setup that works in an environment may not work in another, so having a general idea is helpful.

You can‘t go wrong with this sleek set-up:
