Good Mac Mini Displays

I'm planning on buying a Mac Mini whenever they update the line. What are good displays for it? I would ideally want to buy a 20-23 inch cinema display, though that sorta defeats the whole point of buying apple's cheapest computer. Would a mac mini even work with a cinema display, or do they require higher graphics?
Anyways, what are some good, not dell-ugly, widescreen matte displays that would look and work well with a Mac Mini, and are preferably half the price of the cinema displays? Thanks for any and all feedback.

Difficult to know for sure at this point. If it does turn out to be a MB repacked, then it could very well drive 30" native resolution.

The updated one will handle 2650x1600, so anything 30" is correct.

Yeah I'll update my exact desires, so responses can be more concise =D.

-At least 20" but no more then 25"

-Less then $200 preferably

-Widescreen

-Matte

-Not-ugly =D

-Built in webcam


I know this is pretty precise, but I've been looking and I've found nothing like it. If anybody can point me to what I'm looking for, it would be sweet!

As to response times or resolutions or whatever, I don't really care. I'm a casual gamer (Sims2, COD2, and Warcraft 3, nothing demanding) and don't freak out (or even know) about exact specs. All I'd mostly use it for is web browsing and writing papers for school and listening to music, which is why I'd rather it were matte. Easy on the eyes. Thanks again for any responses!

Oh and also I guess it doesn't have to have a built in webcam, but does anybody know of any good looking webcams that sit on your desk? I use it for skype, to communicate with relatives overseas and my girlfriend, but absolutely HATE those god-awful clip on ones. Just a nice webcam to sit on the desk. I know I keep asking more and more of my advisees, sorry =D. I figured I'd get my responses from the best though .

Can anybody confirm if this looks good. For me, it's a very reasonable price, good screen size, DVI, and matte. Granted it's not very sleek, but compared to just about every other monitor I've seen, it's far from hideous. If I bought a little webcam to put on the side, this might be good. Anyone agree?

Oh what the heck, I'll just suck it up and buy a 20" cinema display. If I buy it in like half a year, and used, I should be able to get it like 350. It's only 150 more then I'd otherwise spend, and it really does complete the experience. Sorry for wasting all of your guys' time, but it was important for me to come to this realization . That display better be freaking epic though, for how much it costs =(.

I have a quick question that has to do with mac mini displays. I've been looking into buying a mini as a first step to get away from Windows and I currently have this monitor:

It only has VGA and HDMI inputs (no DVI) and I've been looking around the web and saw that the mini has problems displaying in 1440x900 resolution (my monitor's resolution) via VGA. I was just wondering if anyone has had similar problems displaying that resolution via VGA on a mini and if so would DVI to HDMI adapters solve the problem by using a digital interface instead of analog?

Killer Samsung

For what it's worth, I just picked up at new giant series Samsung 2343BWX from Costco for $259. My old '04 G4 mini puts out 2048x1152 with no problem. It's nice to get 2 full 1024 windows side by side. I don't know what you want to spend. I've been using a pair Viewsonic VX2235wm's on my Mac Pro and G4 for years now with not a pixel out. But I have to say, Samsung makes a pretty picture. The 2343 is the second one I bought for work. The first was a 21.5 wide, don't know the model but it sure was crisp, better than my Viewsonics. Supposed drawback is the 2343 has a 5ms response, but my Viewsonic has that and I have never seen frame flicker running my FPS's.

The Mac Mini's price point doesn't really make it a value if you buy a mid to high end display with it. With the cost of a Mac Mini and 20" ACD, your better off getting a 20" iMac with dedicated graphics, a faster processor, and bigger HD. The Mini was made for switchers who already have a display and want to get into the Mac game.

This is assuming you don't mind having a glossy display. Which if you absolutely have to have a matte display, then your kinda stuck with a less powerful machine and a nice display.

I strongly disagree with this. The 20" ACD has an S-IPS panel, the 20" iMac has a TN panel. I'd take a Mini/ACD over a 20" iMac any day.
