this is directly facing the end user, rather than workstations.
I didn't find detail about what distro they are considering, altho some of the comment to dell's blog mentioned Ubuntu/Kubuntu etc. Hopefully they will have XGL by default, lol, would be cool, and should be cheaper.

Dell chuck this in as a possibility every few months, yet when it comes down to it it's impossible to order one from them. Microsoft always threaten to pull the rug from the super cheap OEM price Dell pay for Windows licenses, so they quietly let it disappear.

So don't believe a word of it. Whatever Dell think they're able to do is a long way from what they actually can.
