What are some good open-world games that could run without Bootcamp? Besides Borderlands and the GTA III series, is there anything else?

Borderlands isn't exactly open world tho.
There are some RPGs, Dragon Age series are as open as Borderlands.
Some older RPGs like Gothic series are completely open world and runs fine in wine/cider.

Minecraft

minecraft is like terraria but in 3d with way more features and detail, basically u use different materials to create thing (eg houses, rollercoasters, shelves...) you can also mod it, use texture packs, skins and so on... u can also play online with your pc friends!!!

The Elder Scrolls

Games where you can literally go anywhere you want (that includes buildings) and pretty much interact with anything/anyone in the environment would be The Elder Scrolls series. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim would be good ones to check out.

If you're running snow leopard, you could find old copies of Fallout 1 and 2. Those are as open-ended as you can get. They won't run on Lion though, since they are PPC binaries.
