Good p2p for mac?/Virus scan?

I macbook yesterday and its the first time ive owned a mac and its been quite some time since I owned a computer. I was wondering what good P2P's there are out there for mac, is finding programs to download for the mac difficult, and is a program to protect from viruses at all needed?

Congrats on your first mac. If your looking for some p2p apps transmission is a popular one for torrents and I also use frostwire for other files. Dont waste your time with an antivirus you dont need it.
