Has anyone noticed if higher quality files = better recognition by Phase?

Yeah, for any Apple lossless songs that I've tried, the notes seem more accurately timed to the music. The only problem is that half the time, lossless songs seem to take a sudden leap forwards at the beginning, meaning it's impossible to to get the first couple of notes.
