I've got a new iMac coming in next week, and I've got two new ram sticks totaling 32 GB I just bought waiting for it. I'm going to pull out the new pair of 4GB sticks that come with the machine and if they are worth anything, I'd like to sell them. But for what and to whom? Is there a market for this 8GB of RAM?

I'm just wondering, if you have any problems with the imac would you have a problem returning it, if you not got the original sticks to give back.

At least keep the RAM until the warranty period is over. So, you can return it to factory RAM if you ever need to send it in for repairs.

As for selling it eBay is the most viable option. They aren't worth much though. Given how cheap 16GB is. Also there isn't much of a market. Outside of the iMac it's pretty much only laptops which can use that memory. Most of which will already come with 8GB with only one slot available. As DDR4 didn't show up much in laptops until the last couple of years.

You might get $25. Which will come to about $20 after fees and shipping.
