I purchased a 11.6/2gb/128 10 days ago and since then I have had 7 instances where the computer would not wake from sleep. I had to hold the power button down to get it to restart. I have also had the computer come on only to reveal the kernal panic error message in the middle of the screen. I don't mind exchanging it, but could this be a simple software update fix or something bigger?

yeah, i haven't had any issues like that on my 13" MBA. i'd have apple replace it if it continues to be a problem.

Kind of what I was thinking, I went ahead and made an appt. at my local apple store. I'll see if they will swap it for me.

Here's my take.

The problem is Apples, not mine.

I did my part, I performed... I paid for the product and expect it to work as advertised.

So.... in my case when the display began acting up badly, I returned to the Apple store. The genius was easily able to verify it because it was so bad, and replaced it.

Why screw around and waste time asking questions?

Apple has a great service at the store, or if you are too far away, ship it back. They are very good at getting a new one out to you quickly. At least that's been my experience.
