1) because I had some money I wanted to get rid of

2) because I wanted a software that I could mess with for hours and hours, changing settings

3) because I get paranoid once in a while and like to spend hours making sure no one is hacked inot my Macs - because I read some article somewhere - that after a lot of effort and research was not true

that said I will probably upgrade and repeat when the next version is available 😃

In my opinion, it does an excellent job of showing you the traffic between your computer and the internet. It shows you which apps and processes are trying to send information across the internet. It also does a good job of informing you what the process is, so that you can make a better decision as to whether to allow it or not. I keep LS on silent alert. It will make a big point to notify me if something unusual is trying to happen.

It essentially gives you more power and control over what leaves your computer. I think it is worth it. Older versions of LS were a pain with having to deal with every single alert. Not the case anymore unless you want the setting that way.

LS is one of those programs that you either get it and need / want it, or you just don't see the point of it. For me it's a great way to limit the outbound connections that apps make to vendor sites I simply want nothing to do with, such as Facebook.

For my usage, it's the first thing I install on a new Mac and I'll happily purchase the next upgrade that they release....

Excellent point about FaceBook and other privacy invaders that try and track everything you do. Google is just as bad. Little Snitch stops that crap.

Edited to add: The other great thing about LS is that there isn't a subscription or yearly update they try and charge for. I believe there was 4 years between LS 4 and the new LS 5. I paid $25 for the LS 5 upgrade.
