I am currently using godaddy as my hosting company, and I use their website tonight application as a means to run a basic 10 page family website, which I use primarily to share pictures and a blog with.

Was wondering, with a Mac, what would be the best affordable option to build and publish my site to godaddy? I am mostly looking for ease of use and more template options, flexible fonts etc. I am not really familiar with programming, so I've always sought the more WYSIWG type programs, but if it's got a gentle learning curve, I can certainly consider it.

thanks

You can use iWeb. But when finishing instead of 'Publish site' you will want to 'Publish to a folder' and then upload that folder to your hosting account.

The 'Publish site' feature is only used for .mac pages. But I've been working on a website for our local church in iWeb and I think it is coming along great for a 'simple' program. I say simple but it can do so much.

It offers everything you are looking for, templates, fonts. It's not HTML based so no programming needed. It even has a blog features and you can create a neat photo gallery. Check it out.

Apple's iWeb works. One other free tools is to us a full featured word processor and then do "Save As -> HTML" Open Office is free, runs well on Mac OS X and can make some nice web pages with more flexibility tan iWeb.

You can start with a blank canvas in iWeb.

I would recommend it over Open Office and Save As -> HTML.

i think ill give iweb an extended look....

rapidweaver sounds intriguing but then the website stopped working for me. I was looking for one pay-to-use app that I had read about, was like 80 bucks, and I had the site saved in my firefox favorites, which then disappeared so I can't remember what that app was, but it was supposed to be easy to use but pretty slick....

I think what I was thinking of was freeway. Anyone have any comments on that app?
