Good time to buy a new iMac?

before the new year i plan on buying a 27" imac.

excuse my ignorance, but is there an estimated date for a new line of imacs to be released? or, how reliable are the current models?

if i'm spending $2k, i want to make sure i'm doing it right, you know?

the newest imac was released about a month and a half ago so I am pretty sure you are good
