They will be doomed as long as Cook stays as CEO IMO.I was mistaken, I thought it was a different video. In now watching that, I agree with much he has. 3:30 into the video, he mentions how great the keyboard and I agree wholeheartedly.
I think at this point Apple is successful simply because of its reputation from prior models, many people are seeing that they're not as good as they used too and while I don't believe they're doomed, I do wonder if the bloom is of the rose so to speak.
What I find hilarious is we are at the point where a keyboard that is sold as an accessory by Microsoft is a lot better than a keyboard on a $1000 device made by Apple lol.

I'm getting closer..
Now that I'm running a dual boot Hack again, I'm really digging in and tricking out my Win 10 install and I'm totally blown away with how much I'm *not* missing MacOS.
This is not good for Apple if even someone like me (basically exclusive MacOS use for 16 years) is finding "the other side" to be pretty damn "just fine and great actually"
I spent most of the last 2 days in Windows exclusively and it's just not an issue at all. Some things are different, but so much of what matters is on both sides and great on both sides (sides being "each OS")...
This is an interesting time for me. This year may be the year I actually go back. I'll be really curious to see what the future of the Mac looks like by the end of this calendar year.
I am a soon-to-be X1 Extreme user. The terrible design of the current MacBook Pro and the inane arrogance of Ive have me fleeing the Mac platform.
Should've mentioned I have grown tired of macOS since Lion, and really annoyed by High Sierra/Mojave. I don't use iCloud or anything so I am not tied in.Use what you want, but this kind of post just makes me scratch my head. So I will legitimately ask....why does the design of the hardware seem to matter more than the software when it comes to these kinds of discussions? Even if you've had keyboard issues on one of the recent laptops....they have a replacement program to alleviate that free of charge. I get that the hassle can be a pain, but more than completely changing the software platform you use?

I may return if the OS and hardware improve, but as of now I don't really have a whole lot of reason to stay.
Yeah lion was kinda the beginning of my falling out with Mac OS X(I still won't call it macOSShould've mentioned I have grown tired of macOS since Lion, and really annoyed by High Sierra/Mojave. I don't use iCloud or anything so I am not tied in.

For me it, the beginning of the end was Mavericks. I feel like with that code base, they rolled out less and less features, and more and more bugs. Mojave's biggest feature is dark mode, and for me had the worst bugs. I know I was on a beta, but it totally destroyed my filesystem to such a degree, I had to recreate the fusion drive and reinstall macOS (I lost both windows and macos thanks to Mojave). I went back to 10.13 and I've not upgraded my iMac since.Yeah lion was kinda the beginning of my falling out with Mac OS X(I still won't call it macOS
Lion ripped out a lot of the feel of OS X. With the crappy scrollbars and Launchpad they really tried to mesh it with iOS. Everything since Lion doesn't really feel like a desktop OS to me.For me it, the beginning of the end was Mavericks. Still, some things work better in macOS then Windows. For instance, I had a fair amount of headaches trying to import my photos from my iPhone into Lightroom on my X1E. The previews were all sideways, the ordering was all messed up. I have no idea. Using my iMac, no such issues, though going back to my laptop and importing them LR correctly alligned and sorted them after import. The problem is, I wanted to only grab the last set of images but with the ordering messed up I couldn't find them (and I did select the sort order on the preview pane).
I cleaned up my iPhone, imported everything so in the future this hopefully won't be an issue.
