So my birthday is on may 20th (turning 16 =)), so i asked my mom and dad to get me an iPad for my birthday. So of course she ordered it off Apple.com and it said it would ship june 7th she said that was wayyy to long so she looked everywhere in the area for one and of course EVERYONE was out! I called Apple Specialsts, Apple stores, and all the Best buys in my area! Finally i had an idea. Where do i buy things most often? Amazon! So i went to amazon and found they had really good deals on iPads that can have expedited shipping and now im getting my iPad tommorow or the next day.

Long story short: Use amazon to get an iPad if you can't get one right away. It's a good way because a lot of companies have them in stock. :apple:

If you don't mind paying inflated prices... For example, the cheapest 64GB Wifi is $895 shipped.

Amazon is not an official channel for the iPad, so the iPads you see for sale there are individuals who have purchased the iPad from Apple and are reselling it. Just order from Apple online and be patient or go to your local Apple store and find out when they get shipments in. I believe the Apple Stores will put you on a waiting list and call you when they come in.

Correction, there are NO good deals on Amazon. You will, at a minimum, pay 20% above retail and you'll also pay extra for shipping as these are all from third party resellers.

Congrats on the iPad kid!

ash =o)

If you have a university near you, you might want to check to see if their bookstore/computer store has iPads in stock. Ours has several and is the only place within 100 miles (including three Apple Stores and several Best Buys) that has them in stock.
