Goodbye Kindle... An eBay story

I remember the days when people were imagining a Kindle-like-product as a futuristic possibility, and now it's already going out of fashion... crazy.
It's great product I don't know why you persuaded your friends to stay away. E-Ink is wonderful under sunlight and very pleasing in the eyes
So my advice is - if you're only using the iPad as an eBook Reader, stick with your Kindle.

I think my picture above shows that I know what you're talking about. xD
However, the iPad is so much more than just a reader. Paying a few hundred bucks for something that can only read books is ridiculous in my opinion.
So my advice is - if you're only using the iPad as an eBook Reader, stick with your Kindle.

Yeah that is why my Kindle 2 was just sold and paid on eBay and I'm getting iPad tomorrow
Hey at least Kindle 2 which can only do basically 1 function wonderfully is priced at $250 versus JooJoo which ALSO can only do 1 function not so wonderfully is priced at $500.... have you used one? if you've never owned one - never used one - what kind of friends do you have that would listen to your uninformed opinion? And I mean uninformed in that you have no use case. I can only imagine your "experience" is from reading other's opinions. Interesting.
My wife will never give up her Kindle DX. She is not interested in all the extra's that the iPod offers.
Me, on the other hand, has a 64GB 3G ordered and may try to pick up a 16GB wifi version tomorrow to play with until I get my 3G one.

I admit I've never used one properly for a prolonged period (I've played around with my old English teacher's one). To be quite fair, most of the reviews for Kindle are very positive, because it does what it's intended to do quite well.
However, as stated in my previous comment, it's my personal opinion that shelling out such a large sum of money for something that doesn't do anything beside reading books just isn't economical at all, and when the people I talk to do the sums in their minds, most of them come to the same conclusion.
I sold my original Kindle about a month ago. And just last week I sold Kindle 2 and DX, so now I'm Kindle-free. I will be getting a 64GB 3G iPad.
Doubt it. She has more 3G usage on her iPhone than I do.
Unless she is at home, she is never around a wifi hot spot.I've got a nook, and it will continue to receive regular use even after I get my iPad. I'm sure I'll purchase some content from the iBook store, but I genuinely love the reading experience eInk offers. It's a very nice device for me to take when I want to separate myself from distractions while reading. When I go out to the woods and spend a couple of days in a cabin, I'm not going to take my iPad, because I want to be away from email, games, and other communication type distractions. The nook allows me to do that, while still having a book or 2,000 to sit beside the lake or fireplace with.
I'm all about convergence devices, but I also think there's a lot to be said for single purpose devices, too.
