Since configuring apps for push mail seems to confusing for some people, here is a visual guide, step by step (obviously replace my domain with yours):

Step 1:
From an administrator account, click on manage domain

Step 2:
From the dashboard, click mobile

In mobile settings, make sure "Enable Mobile Sync" is checked and hit "Save Changes"

Now on your iPhone in settings>mail>create new account, select exchange account (note you can only have one exchange account per iPhone). Your settings should look like this below, obviously sub my domain and user name for yours. Note I do not recommend syncing contacts, since this is likely hundreds of useless email addresses you contacted at one time or another.

Now ensure that "Push" is selected as the fetch new data option in general mail settings. You may also wish to leave fetch enabled, this ensures that things you delete in the web interface sync with your phone automatically, among other things. I recommend 30 minutes.

At the bottom of the fetch new data screen there is an advanced option, select this, then select your google apps exchange account and select push. You're done!

Please let me know if this was helpful, how I can improve it, if you have any questions or feedback in general. Good luck!
