I also installed it. It's fairly useful and works well with iOS. I will see how it fares in the next week or so. But it offers a lot in terms of customization.

It seems to be able to make phone calls, but not send texts/iMessages. It will compose them, but doesn't push the "send" button when you tell it to. Odd. It's way ahead of Siri - too bad it can't be integrated completely in iOS.

I used the pre-version on Allo --- very handy and actually really useful. I have Siri turned off on my iPhone but I can see myself using this. Just wish it would be always on like Siri without having to open the application. One of my favorite things is you can schedule tidbits of information to come to you throughout the day. Searching via voice is really... really handy.

Reference the Bolded part in your post. Having to manually open the application without being hands-free is cumbersome. But otherwise, it's really well executed on how you have loads of sources you can use to research or look up things in Google assistant. I do hope Apple takes note and brings something like this in the future for Siri.
