Want to throw this question out here because I'm not finding any much on the Google help forums.
Have one of the new 27" i5 iMacs and I can't get the Google Talk Video Chat plugin to work with OSX. It doesn't matter if I'm using Firefox, Safari, or Chrome - what happens is the iSight initializes and then quickly turns itself off. An error report box pops up telling me "The Google Talk plugin has unexpectedly quit" and asks me to send an error report.
The iSight works fine bootcamped into Windows and I can use it in Skype and iChat (except iChat doesn't appear to like Google Chat video so that's not gonna work) and it's certainly not an issue with Snow Leopard since I can use video chat on my old MacBook Pro. I've already tried reinstalling OSX but nothing. The Google Troubleshooting site does point out video chat issues with Snow Leopard but none appear to apply - there's no audio, the chat just doesn't initialize so no avatar either, and I don't have sleep issues.
I'm not finding a lot of people up in arms about this, which either means not a lot of people use Google Video Chat or this is a unique problem to a small number of us. Just like to know, for my own peace of mind, which it is. Even if it works for you, let me know. Thanks.
