Hi,
Google Chrome is currently my browser of choice...however for some reason on a 2009 Mini I just received (2.26Ghz, 4GB Ram, OSX 10.8.5)...it hangs as soon as I try to open a webpage...even trying to open it settings I get the unhappy computer face saying that the page has become unresponsive and do I want to wait or kill it.

How would I go about troubleshooting this? I will say that I used migration assistant to setup the mini from a time machine backup (so that's where it received chrome from - not a regular install).

My 2009 MBP (2.26Ghz, 8GB Ram, OSX 10.8.5) has no issues running it...

Does Safari work without hanging?

Perhaps reinstall Chrome and make sure it is up-to-date.

Yeah no problem with safari. I did uninstall it (delete) and reinstall... But it did the same thing.

I uninstalled Chrome and deleted the preferences then reinstalled....still hangs.

Very odd....

Just consider another browser instead of being on Google's Heroin infuse.

Google Chrome is just a really unstable browser, is there extensions you need for chrome? I would use safari, but just uninstall everything related to chrome.

Chrome was the better browser available in some moment of the internet history, but Firefox and perhaps even Internet Explorer surpassed it. Don't know why... I guess it had a lot of hardware tricks to perform better, but once hardware specs moved towards 64-bit, GPUs, energy consumption aware operating systems, it simply evaporated. I never seen a browser become obsolete so fast as Chrome since Netscape.

On Windows, I use IE + Firefox + Opera. On Macs, I use Safari + Firefox.
