As of last night every time I go to Google it now goes to the mobile version. Then when I try hitting the display in classic option it still goes back to mobile. I have tried clearing the cache and cookies, still Google mobile. Google mobile defeats the purpose of a full featured web browser. Any one else have this issue?

ipod touch

Same here. My ipod touch defaults to Google mobile no matter what i do. This is really annoying since you can't even zoom in!! And it's not only the main page but the news page as well.

Anyone knows what to do to put it back to Classic??

had the same problem. I bookmarked news.google.com so I can go direct, if I go to google and then click news it shows the mobile version.

Are we there yet?
Well, this morning my default view for the iPhone went back to the classic view for the google dot com news site. Thank you Google! It appears that there were enough complaints and they reversed this. The mobile view is available, but I'm not touching it.

Mine is STILL mobile version. Is this a google problem, or is it my service?

I've noticed quite a few sites, not just Google, forcefully redirect you to a mobile version of their page. It's really annoying. I think a law suit is in order. :D It's discriminating by assuming that because I'm on a mobile phone I should be directed to the gimped mobile version with no option of the other.

No, but seriously if you were, lets say.., Spanish and you walked into a restaurant and they automatically (without asking) served you Tacos, you'd be pretty pissed off too!

Somehow a day or so ago I stumbled across the Google mobile. It was clunky and plain annoyed me... But, I had my iGoogle thing bookmarked and use it as my homepage (before I leave Safari on the phone, I open the bookmark, since we can't set a homepage for some reason), and now it's back to normal.

:p

iphone stuck in google mobile

Same experience here. Some days I wake up in a Google Mobile world, some days are Classic. No combination of Safari settings appear to give ME the choice. It is as though Google is still figuring this out.

(Happily, I report today is Classic!)

sounds like you guys prefer the operation of "zooming in" over efficiency?
