I am still having an issue with Google File Stream under Catalina Beta 7.

Whenever I select the Google Drive mounted disk in the Locations section of the sidebar of the Finder, I get the following error message “Google Drive can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found.". The Google Drive volume on the Desktop is working fine though.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the app but it didn't fix the problem.
Has anybody facing that issue found a solution?

I am facing the same problem. The only way to avoid the popup is to click on the GFS icon in the menu bar, then click on the Folder icon there. This brings up a Finder window with MyDrive and no error.

Been seeing this on Mojave also. Google File Stream is just buggy and has been for seveal releases now.

Did you do a full uninstall, removing all data in ~/Library/ relating to the application? AppCleaner does a good job at removing all traces of File Stream.

Ok so one way that works for me. In Finder, Go to folder /Volumes/googledrive, then pin My Drive to favourites.

I am having the same issue, except mine just go worse today! All of the sudden my files won't stay downloaded on my Mac, and when I work off of a file it will not save as it says I don't have the permissions or the file is locked. I can get around it a bit by saving a new file, and then deleting the old one.

Has this happened with anyone else?
