Been looking into using the Google Hangouts app dialer to make and receive free calls.

How reliable is the voice connection?

When making or receiving calls what 'network' or 'platform' are the incoming and outgoing calls going on?

It basically uses your data connection to make VoIP calls. It's fairly reliable, but can depend on the quality and speed of your data connection.

Thanks. So the calls are via data connection to make VoIP calls. With AT&T I get good data quality and speeds.

However I'm on an unlimited data plan and sometimes get throttled. When I get throttled speeds are .50 up and down with very low pings. What's the minimim Mpbs you can make a Hangouts call? In this instance of being throttled I'm not looking for the best quality like when I'm not throttled, I'm looking to see if I'm able to make a call at .50 up and down with 40 pings.
