Is that article talking about Safari for Mac or iPhone? I still think Safari is the best mobile browser I've ever used, whereas OS X Safari was replaced by Chrome a long time ago.
Blame iOS App Store restrictions. Chrome for iOS is basically a slower, skinned version of Safari
Google, specifically Android, has been steadily improving its entire platform, Gibson wrote. To me, it still doesnt have the same quality of polish and feel that Apple software does. However, its getting harder to argue that point, especially since their web services all tend to Just Work. Features like Google Now and near-instant voice commands are starting to give Android a serious leg up on iOS. Design is coming along as well. Android is still ugly, but its much less ugly than it was a few years ago. Google seems to be actively addressing this, and if Apple isnt worried, they should be.
Yeah but Chrome on Android is pretty terrible as well--can't blame that on Apple.
Anytime I read an ambiguous & slanderous comment like this, it obvious the author has never used the product that he or she is bashing.Yeah but Chrome on Android is pretty terrible as well
Lots of people will dispute it. Only the single minded are so closed to competition, feeling compelled to bash it.I don't think anyone will dispute this. Android does still look very junky and rough.
Not really... I use it exclusively on my S3 because the stock browser is complete junk.

I've used both iOS & Android for years. These two are not the most popular mobile OS's for nothing. It's because each is quite good. A fact that is lost on the inexperienced & narrow minded.
Well, to each his own. I find Chrome terribly laggy and inconsistent with touch response--had the same experience on both my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7. I actually prefer the stock browser and was pleasantly surprised to find it included with Paranoid Android on my N7 after Google left it off stock JB on the device. I've also used Dolphin and Firefox and found both more responsive than Chrome.
I'm going to have to try out Firefox and Dolphin. Chrome does lag on picture heavy pages.
Actually like Dolphin quite a bit--very cool use of gestures and voice activated searches. Inability to sync bookmarks with another browser keeps me from using it that much. I use Firefox for any Flash based browsing as it will utilize sideloaded Flash where as the others don't.
I've also read good things about xScope but haven't checked it out yet myself.
Just downloaded FF. Let's see how it works.
I don't have Flash anymore anyways. It's gone from JB
Sideload it.

iMessage for Mac lives in an alternate dimension in which time has no ordered sequence.
So utterly true. Continuing conversations between my Air and iPad suck. And this is the best feature of iMessage too.

Yeah, it's weird, Chrome is amazing for Windows & OS X, yet terrible for Android. I would've thought Google would have poured a lot of resources into their own browser for their own OS.Yeah but Chrome on Android is pretty terrible as well--can't blame that on Apple.
Like tbayrgs, I've used it a lot. I own a Nexus 7, Chrome's the stock browser.Anytime I read an ambiguous & slanderous comment like this, it obvious the author has never used the product that he or she is bashing.
I have, it's much, much better than Chrome.Boat browser seems to be quite fast. Has anyone tried that?

Wow, finally. How long did that take them? Chrome's been awful for ages, I can't believe Google allowed it to exist in that state for so long.Just FYI, Chrome got an update today that apparently fixes performance issues.
