Google keyword search statistics?

For a little project I'd like to know how many its certain keywords have had on search engines, and how this has evolved the 10 past years. I see it done all the time in presentations, yet I fail to figure out how to do it. Can someone tell me?

One thing to look at is Google Analytics. Also, pretty much all web stats programs will capture what search terms people used to get to your web site. These can be gathered up and used as you describe.
