iPhone Google Maps, No Street names announcements

google maps does not announce street names when navigating on my phone, only generic guidance, " go south"

I have changed the phone language to UK English, enabled Siri.., mailed google ( no response)....

None of the solutions online seem to work.

Problem is driving me crazy!!!!!

I'm not 100% but last time this happened to me I'm sure it was down to a signal issue not allowing data. The area I had an issue with I downloaded the map for which solved the problem for me at least.

I've downloaded a map for offline navigation, made no difference
