I am happy with my Fire TV but if this will run XBMC as good as it does I will sell my Fire TV since this has Chromecasting built in

Well, I have a Roku 3, Chromecast, and AppleTV. Why not add one more to the collection?

I might grab this, it needs to run xbmc tho. Been looking at a droidplayer which looks decent, but will grab this if reviews are good and it runs xbmc. Can finally retire the ps3 as dlna media player.

Yeah, that's the one thing stopping me from making this an instant buy.

If I've got a device hardwired to the TV already, I don't want to waste precious wireless bandwidth for watching video online that could just as well stay on the wires.

Well probably because it is also a gaming device, have you not noticed the size of some of these games?

Not really interested in it. If I end up getting an android streamer it'd be chromecast simply because it costs practically nothing. Even that would probably end up being a waste as Google has hardcoded it's own DNS into chromecast (which makes it a PITA for users outside USA to access US netflix using services like unblock-us).

But this announcement does give me hope that an updated :apple:TV with an appstore is possibly on the cards tommorrow. Fingers crossed. :)
