Hey,

I'm assuming there's plenty of people here who use Google photos or another similar app to back up there photos. I've recently transferred everything over, and deleted them off my phone in order to make up space and reduce the size of my iOS backup. But is there any way for me to use Google photos to directly send photos? Like if I want to post a photo to an app, or send it through a message. Right now it'll open up the stock photos app, but is there any way to view the photos in my Google photos app? Or am I stuck with opening the Google photos app and sharing the picture from there?

Thanks.

This works with Google Photos for me: https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht206906

You can clean up the mess that "iMessage Apps" is by managing the list as shown at the bottom of the support document.

Thanks. That'll help with iMessages at least. Would've been nice to be able to do that everywhere but oh well.

My bad. I missed that was one of the options he'd take.

Yeah, messages are usually where I'd be sending pictures, but it would've been nice to have something like how it'll open up the photos app except it pulls the photos from Google photos.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Well...you sorta can upload a photo from Google Photos to this forum via Google Drive. You can't see the thumbnails, the images are the reduced versions that are stored on the phone, and the filenames are different due to the Google Photos database organization.

Thumbnails in the "Files" app seems like a no-brainer but I guess it just takes up more storage to add them.
