Clever... it's probably using something like the "median" stack mode in Photoshop, which eliminates any differences between the stacked images. Useful for removing people, noise, etc. In this case glare, which shifts across the print as you move the camera position.

I'm betting a flatbed scan is still much better, and they really exaggerate the amount of effort it requires. But you need a PC, and the scanner of course.
