Google Pixel 5 Pro with in-display camera

The Google Pixel 5 Pro has appeared in an unexpected leak that shows the phone we all wanted to see this year. And better yet, we have multiple leaked photos showcasing the incredible upgrades of the Google Pixel 5 Pro.

If this is even true, do we have a release date? My guess would be Spring, but that's based on zero info, just a hunch of Google wants to switch the release timing for the Pixel phones, from Fall to Spring

That would a dumb move to release another phone early next year. Their phone lineup this year was badly staggered as it is. So if true the Pixel 5 Pro would release the same year as the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 would receive 1 more year of updates and if pricing is anything to go by, the Pixel 5 Pro looks to be a $999-1099 phone.

Now I like big phones but I would probably pass on a P5 Pro.

I am skeptical as well....But I would buy a 6.67″ display Pixel in a heartbeat as long as it had Face Unlock. Not a fan of the FPS on the back to be honest.
Same. As much as face unlock is often inconvenient in today’s world, I still prefer it over a fp reader. Even better would be both. ;)

Both would be cool. I'm still kinda bummed that the 12 Pro doesn't have a power button fp reader, it would have been so awesome to have right now.

If true (and even if untrue) Google’s smartphone biz is a complete crap show. They release the 4, then the 4a almost a year later and the 5 and 4a5g at the same time and shortly after a possible 5 pro. All the brains in the world at their disposal and this is what they come up with? I honestly think they just change their minds wayyyy too far into production and have no vision or direction.

rant over

Google is completely lost. Sundar Pichai is not a leader. Someone needs to gut Google HQ and they need to start over, IMO.

That's pretty harsh and extreme. It's like Apple users blaming certain aspects of an iPhone design or the latest version of macOS on Tim Cook. Google is doing just fine, their Pixel phone line is a hobby or side project for Google. Their main revenue source is still their search engine and advertisement. Whether one buys a Pixel phone or any Android phone it counts all the same to Google. Could they have done things better, sure. Is it the end for Google, no.

I don’t think it was harsh at all. I’ve talked about my issues with Google in the past and I stand by my comment. I don’t have time to hash this out, but my Google complaints are accessible through my post history.

New rumors as of yesterday, saying it is real;

I doubt it. Even in that article the one source that says it's in development says it's been shelved and may never actually release. Just said that it was talked about and in development at one point.

So maybe the Pixel 5 Pro was something that was gonna be released back in the Fall along with the 4a and 5G, but it just never happened.

Would be silly to release a new phone named Pixel 5 Pro in 2021, it's the 6 year.

I think Google should move the release date to the Spring, when the new Snapdragons are released, April / May time, and do the new SD888

Yeah, I think that was the plan. Could've been the COVID climate and poor 4XL sales that led them to scrap it and revamp for the 6.
