So I've purchased several movies and TV shows from Google play in HD. However I've noticed that the files seem to be heavily compressed in comparison to HD movies/TV shows I've purchased from iTunes. For example a movie in HD downloads at a size of around 1.8 GB on Google play yet the equivalent movie is 4-5 GB if downloaded from iTunes in HD?

Clearly higher compression rate...

How is the quality of the movies when you view them?

The quality is fine. It's hard to compare the quality directly as I'm viewing on an iPad air and Galaxy tab pro. The pro has a bigger screen (10.1 vs 9.7) and the aspect ratio is different too.

For me... If the quality is the same or close enough not to notice. I would rather have less space taken up by the download.
