Ever since updating my iPad Pro 12.9 with iOS 12, I've had a mysterious issue...all of the sudden, for no reason, my iPad starts playing music. It has the Apple cover on it. But even in my messenger bag, I will sit my bag down, and music starts playing. I check the iPad and no apps are running, but I determine the music is coming from Google Play Music (possibly because it was the last app I used to play music...it might happen with Tidal if I used it, I just haven't tried).

I've turned off background refresh for Google Play Music, but that doesn't work. It will even drain my iPad battery. I'll notice my iPad is at 18% after having been at 100% the day before and not used since, and when I check battery stats, it shows Google Play Music having used all the battery for hours!

So, no apps are running (double-tap home button and clear all apps). I can't figure out how to stop this behavior, or why it is happening.

Of note...sometimes I can hear the music playing and other times not. My iPad battery will be surprisingly low after having been charged up the day before and unused since, and I check the battery stats and it shows Google Play Music as the culprit.

I'm almost wanting to remove the app but thought I would ask here, first.

Might try to uninstall and reinstall. Redownloading can be a bit of a pain.
I use Google Music on all my devices (including an IPP 12.9 G2) and have not run into this issue.
