google doesn't endorse one android phone than another. just like MS doesn't endorse HP than Dell or Sony.

there are multiple android phone out there now, most acclaimed being HTC-Hero.

Clevin pretty much already said it, but Google doesn't make the hardware. All they did/do is write the OS and make it freely available for phone manufacturers to use. They didn't make the My Touch.
