I agree, you can get an aspire revo for 150ish and load boxee/xbmc/skype and accomplish almost the same thing.It seems high to me until it proven otherwise

If they really want to compete, they cant be thinking in the past, they have to be ahead of the game, and a $299 price point is going to make this a very hard choice over some of the cheaper options out there at the moment.

The GoogleTV doesn't store any content locally.
You still need a cable service to make the product actually do something other than browse the web.
Other boxes have Amazone VOD and Netflix for well, 1/3 of the price.
