Google will open VP8 to accelerate HTML5 video

this will sure assure mozilla and opera, if IE were to follow, the HTML5 video with VP8 codec will be deployed widely in short period. If google were to settle with VP8 as final form for its video service. This will be a significant move.

Google previously acquired VP8 codec through acquisition of On2
