Tried to add another gmail account to the iPhone. (Account is already running on the Mac). Google says "Browser is blocking cookies". OK, so I disable cookie blocking in Safari, reboot, but no change to message. WTF.

Any experience with this ? What else do I change ?

Running iOS 15.3.1 on an iPhone 12.

Thanks

I'm assuming you're going through Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Google?

Do you get the following message and then the following page (after clicking Continue on the message)? When do you get the message about "browser is blocking cookies"?

Yes, I get though both screens. I get the message when I click on the "Next" button on the second screen. Happens even after I disable all the privacy/blocking setting I can find.

I just went through all the motions to add a Google account to my iPhone (13 Pro Max iOS 15.4.1) and was able to add it successfully with on issues, so I'm not sure why it's giving you that message.

Have you tried clearing all data in Safari (Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data)?

Good idea but didn't work for me. Curiously, I cleared the history and the screen suddenly displayed the second of your attachment screens again. (unprompted). Failed to go any further.

If I were you, next I would manually quit ALL open apps and then force restart your iPhone to see if that helps:

Thanks. Tried these but no success. How does one know which apps are actually open vs just being available + are listed in the "last used" scrolling screen that appears when sliding a finger up from the bottom of the screen etc ?

In the meantime I've installed Outlook and added it into that - no issues.

It's probably just semantics at this point, but I call them "open" if they're available on that list to be able to close them. Sorry to hear it didn't work. One other thing you might try is a different network (either a different wi-fi network or if you're on wi-fi now, try using your cellular data network instead, etc.). If that doesn't work, then beyond erasing and restoring your iPhone (like you would if you were going to sell it), I'm not sure what else to suggest. Very bizarre.
