I have a Mac Book pro(2013) with 10.11.6, Os x El Capitan. Recently purchased Go Pro Black 7. Tried to download video from The Go Pro taken at 2.7k @60 fps. got an error message saying hevc files not compatible with my computer. what can i do

El Cap doesn't support HVEC directly, you need to recode the H.265 to H.264 for "native" playback, or look into something like VLC as a player (it might need a H.265 plugin, but it's all free, and it's a great video app). Other options: upgrade your OS, or, check out the option on the camera, and I suspect there's an option to change the recording format.
