I’ve got 2 iPads. A 3rd generation iPad pro 12.9 and a whatever generation 9.7 iPad, purchased at the same time. The iPad Pro suffered a hairline fracture diagonally from top right to ~1/3 of the screen. Annoying as heck, but no functionality i,paired.

Today (and I’ll include photo later) I was throwing stuff out cause moving to new house and a stainless steel coffee mug slipped out of my overcrowded arms and right right on to the home button of the iPad. The damage radiated right around the frame of the iPad. It’s actually kind of beautiful.

I immediately did a backup and am now fully charging it just in case it loses the anility to charge as a result of the damage. Think I’ll get them repaired after I move and will then donate them.

Really don;t need much justification to buy new ones. And no leather cases for Tom this time; cats like them too much.

@doboy Or Corning glass or. Apologies if I’m wrong about the manufacturer of said glass.

The perspective is skewed; what looks oblongish/ovoid is a direct 90 degree impact of full coffee mug on top of iPad. These are reflection/refraction as I was tilting, trying to get a better picture with an iPod. Fingerprint sensor in the home button works (left/right thumbs/forefingers), power on/off. Pencil, wifi and bluetooth still work. The streaming bluetooth music didn’t stutter.

Yeah it sucks - but that’s my justification for getting new iPads
