Got 256GB. Serial says it’s 64Gb

Hello

I just got an iPhone 11 from Backmarket. Supposedly a 256GB, in iPhone storage it’s indeed that.
But I checked on SNDeep.info and IMEI.info it seems it should be a 64GB version.
What does that mean ? It’s a software trick from the reseller ? They managed to change the storage from 64 to 256 ? I thought it was not possible.
The serial is C7CC61KKN72K
Beside that everything appears to work.
I contacted BM, waiting for an answer.
I’m clueless. What should I do ?

Thank you

I would not post an iPhone serial number in any forum and I definitely wouldn't give it to a website that I don't trust completely…including one where the two language settings are "Russian" and "English".

I suggest you delete the SN from your post. If you don't I will probably suggest, to the site admins, that they do something.

That seems like black magic, considering how hard it is to manually add/remove iPhone storage (I'm not even sure if it's possible, really)... Well, I'd recommend not looking too much into it, and appreciate the 256gb that you have. At least you didn't get sent a steel-toed boot and 2 pennies.

It's very possible if you can do board level soldering. Plenty of videos on YouTube of people showing how it's done. Not sure if this is what occurred in the OP's situation..

What does Apple say it is? When you try to trade in a device, it asks for the SN. Put in the SN and it should tell you the Make, Model and Size.

What does it say if you check on the Apple Support app?

Apple says it’s supposed to be a 64gb … that’s all.

I’m sending it back to the seller, battery is trash. Backmarket is a joke, I won’t trust them ever again.

You could just get a battery replacement?

But then again, if they tampered with the storage and battery, who knows what they changed. Returning it is for the best.

Well, color me impressed... I don't know how to solder, but that can come in handy incase I need an extra, say, 2tb of storage.
