I have allways wanted to see a nice picture of the 20 inch G4 iMac. Anyone got one?

These are pictures I took of mine when I sold it on ebay. It was an awesome computer and I miss it. Really great design. But I always gotta have the latest and greatest.

They were gorgeous computers, I can't decide whether I like the G4 or the G5 better. The G4 was a lot heavier than the G5 though - they had to add a lot more weight to the base to support the 20" screen.

I love the G4. The look of it is half the reason I initially switched to Mac. This is the only shot of my G4 on my hard drive that I could find (resized to fit attachments). I've been dying to upgrade it (via Daystar), though I'm having reservations about having it shipped out to have its insides gutted and replaced. Someday though someday(probably the day my warrenty runs out or it gets too unbearably slow.) :D

I love my iMac G5....so much more powerful than the iMac G4's.....but not nearly as pleasant to look at. I went from this to this:

Hate to be a party popper, but I think those are the ugliest computers ever.

They take some getting used to, although I still prefer the look of the G4 iMac to the G5 and its overbite.

I think its just the base part I dont like. The screen and the arm are fine.

heh. I love that base. The glowing 'UFO' look it adds is just perfect.

mmm... the iMac G4... The computer that first got me interested in macs...

That computer is really a piece of art. I will own one someday, even though it will be sorely outdated, just for the coolness factor. iMac G4 > iMac G5

to put my two cents in...

the iMac g4 was functional and elegant, the g5 looks like a reversion instead of a revision.

the arm that was attached to the screen was/is wonderful, why couldn't they just upgrade the internals?

When I saw the iMac G4 in Time Magazine, I knew instantly that I wanted a Mac. Later I found out that an old friend of mine had bought one -- one of the first, maybe a 15" @ 700MHz??? -- and he spent a couple of hours giving me the Mac tour. When I saw iMovie I just couldn't believe what it could do. I was sold, and the rest is history.

In other news -- I think Dell's engineers are going to be releasing something similar to the iMac G4 in 2007... ;) ;) ;)

Yeah, I wanna replace the screen on my 15" with a 20" one if I can get hold of it on it's own:)
you can't unless you add a ton of weight to the iMacs base.
