If you're already an ATT customer, a Corp. or Business Account holder, and don't wanna stay locked to a 2-yr agreement or can't sign up b/c of Corp. agreements, no problem. Just get the iPhone from an Apple store or online and visit the following website:

Follow the instructions for iASign and make sure to use your current Cingular/ATT SIM, not the one that came in the iPhone. If you do it right, you will be mightily surprised.
P.S.
If you have an existing data plan, you can use it immediately on the iPhone. If you don't have one, just get one like a PDA/Treo plan for $20. It's compatible
