Got a new 27" i5 and love it so far. I will do a load of gaming benchmarks for everyone once I have my old stuff transferred over. I have a question though as this is the first time I've wanted to move my iTunes and iPhone apps over to a new iMac - I forgot to do time machine transfer and migration assistant said my user names were the same so couldn't transfer it.

What I want to know is I have just done a copy and paste of the iTunes folder to my new mac from old - will this transfer all apps and music and work right away?

If you do File -> Open and select the iTunes folder from the old machine it will import all of the music, videos and apps into your new library.

Cheers - does that work for iPhoto too? Want to import all the faces data!

iPhoto is a self-contained library. Just go to the Photos Folder on your Mac and then copy it into your new folder. All data and information is stored in it.
