I was a bit surprised to find that there were hardly any instructions that came with the iphone about basic things like how to insert a sim card.
I got the pay as you go option and am charging it now but I'm not sure if the sim card needs to be inserted before charging and how to do it.
Are there any good online instructions for the iphone anywhere?

Thanks.
I heard somewhere that you can only connect it to one computer to sync things or transfer stuff.
Is this the case?
I have a Mac Pro and a MBP. If I connect it to the Mac Pro the first time, will I then not be able to connect it to the MBP while I am travelling?
I'm not really sure what I am talking about here, but I don't want to do anything that will mess it up later.
My few songs and my photos and my email address book are on my Mac Pro since I just recently upgraded the MBP from Tiger to Leopard and did a clean install, so it's fairly empty at the moment, but I think that it would be useful to have it compatible with my MBP as well since that's what I have with me when I travel.
Thanks for any advice.

I have not tried to sync my iPhone with multiple computers. However, I saw this thread:

It looks like it's possible. Just move your iTunes Library from your MP to your MBP and then enable "Manually manage music and video" on your iPhone settings thru iTunes.

Back up your iTunes library before trying this, just in case.

Can I simply connect the two computers with firewire and transfer things around or import things from one to another?
I just upgraded my MBP from Tiger to Leopard and did a complete fresh install of everything, so it's currently empty of anything in itunes, photos, emails, address book, etc., and I was planning to load the same personal stuff on it as is on the Mac Pro.
I heard that if you try to sync the iphone to a different computer, it deletes all your currently synched stuff and imports the new stuff.
Does doing it manually like you suggest allow me to add stuff from various computers as I want?
