someone had to say it...
World of Warcraft.
huge world,
you choose your playstyle,
100's of addons to customise gameplay,
average 14 days playtime to 80, then unlimited considering the game is impossible to fully complete.
customisable characters, 10 classes to choose from over 12 races over 2 factions (as far as i can remember)
epic world pvp, 2 on 2 arenas.
good roleplay communities on some servers.
hours and hours of endgame raiding.
just make sure you come up for air once in a while ^^
Thanks for the recommendations guys, appreciate it. That fusion games looks pretty odd lol, might look into it a bit more.
Yeah, get Steam later this month and give L4D2 a try - absolute blast!
Heroes of Newerth is an addictive DOTA clone from S2 Games, in open beta right now. Also, S2's Savage 2 is free to play.
Can you explain how Steam on mac will allow us to play L4D2 in OSX, something which I've been confused about for a while.
The Blizzard successor to Starcraft (Warcraft 3) is not that great as a strategy game imo but it does offer some unique styles of gameplay as people create their own maps with their own custom triggers and whatnot enabling many types of minigames that appeal to a lot of online gaming fans.
Theoretically it's pretty simple, just a bunch of planets, try and conquer them all. But the depth of strategy and quick thinking is pretty amazing.
