Apple Music Got charged for a trial, got money back but trial ended early.

I was refunded for a trial I clicked through on the home page of the music app. Just one month free, the 3 month didn’t work. I contacted Apple who refunded me but I have just noticed my trial has also now ended early. Is this normal?

I’m a bit confused. If you were charged, that means the trial should’ve been over right? Did you cancel before the trial ended and before you were charged?

If you canceled early to avoid being charged, then the trial ends at that time as well. The trick is to cancel right before the trial ends.


This is normal with Apple subscriptions. With many apps if you cancel you will still have the remainder of the free trial but not with Apple subscriptions. There is a little pop up saying this and asking if you want to do it, but most people don’t read that.

That’s weird because anytime I’ve signed up for the trials I was charged at the end of the trial period. Maybe call Apple support or you can even message them. From my experience, they are not always helpful though.

To me what sounds like happened is they didn’t give you a free trial at all. They signed you up for the subscription so when you canceled, then they refunded your money and canceled the subscription.

At least that’s my best guess. Definitely not something normal for a trial though.
