Since I have my MacBook M1 I use Safari on it because for private things I also use Safari on my iPhone and it syncs neatly together. However, now I use my MacBook more and more for work and studies and on my Desktop and my other laptop (both running on Linux) I use FireFox.
I found quite a lot of threads, saying that FireFox on MacBooks is a real battery drain, but most posts were from 2020-2022. So is this still the case? Is the bigger battery usage noticeable or is it like 1-2% over 10h usage?

Ok Safari just introduced profiles, which makes it at least even to FF. Still I cannot use Safari on my Linux set up :/

I run Firefox or waterfox on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro for video downloading only.
the battery time usage on that is the same if I streamed a sport event on safari.

the MacBook Air m1 only uses  programs except for hand break
and on Sonoma which has less hours of battery time than Monterey or Ventura I noticed just Tuesday.

I hoped this helped in anyway.
