iPhone got gevey ultra sim (coma) working on vz 4s but little problem

i have a vz iphone 4s 5.1.1 unlocked on gevey sim ultra s cdma version

jailbroken using absinthe 2.0.4

on walmart family talk plan

the phone won't let me text people, i can iMessage all day and FaceTime and use data, but whenever i text someone that doesn't have an iphone as a regular text it always fail to send.

any tips?

the phone was never activated, i just deleted the carrier bundle folder and went from there and it works but just today i am receiving text from people i know who doesn't have an iPhone and i can receive their texts but i can't reply

to add:

i don't have the verizon sim that came with the phone, and the phone was given to me unactivated.

from what apple n berry says i need to activate it through iTunes, but how can i when i don't have the sim card in it and it fails?

CDMA iPhones don't use the SIM cards for activation. Those are for GSM roaming. You just plug it into iTunes without the original SIM, and it should activate. If you ran Absinthe already, that means you were activated. I guess I would try to Reset All Settings on the iPhone.

You need to get the APN settings for the carrier you are using.
You will need to buy TetherMe from Cydia to expose the APN settings panel to be able to enter the settings.

you can also just visit unlockit.co.nz on your iphone via wifi, and select the country and carrier, and it will install the proper APN for you. Texts should work after that, you may need to restart the phone.
