Got it working - Android Wear working with iPhone 6 (No root/jailbreak required)

It is a very simple process and takes about 60 seconds. This allows you to get all notifications on your Moto 360 from your iPhone. (This should also work with any Android Wear device). But it def works. I'm getting all my notifications and texts from the iPhone onto my 360.

Caveat: You still need an Android device to start this process.

1. Download Wear Connect for iOS on your Android device here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codegy.wearconnectforios&hl=en

2. Download BLE Utility for iOS on your iPhone here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ble-utility/id606210918?mt=8

Hopefully Google just release an iphone Wear app and support the OS natively. I wont pick up a other smartwatch until it works across my devices without fiddling.

Paired my LG Watch R with my iPad Mini, and immediately got a couple of missed iMessage notifications on the watch.

So now the watch is showing notifications from both a Moto X and an iPad.

Will also pair it with my iPhone later on to see if it'll take all three.

Edit: hmm. Potential problem paired this way: will I be able to recognize which device pushed each notification?

Yeah, I am getting duplicates too. Obviously, one phone needs to be disconnected from BT.

I'm enjoying my Moto x² too much right now to go back to the iPhone. But it is good to know that no matter which phone I use now, I will get my notifications and texts/iMessage. Love that my watch cost me so little and now provides so much.

Well, the ones from the iPhone will have an apple logo on them, while the ones from your moto x will have the icon of the app that sent them.

Unless you mean between your iPhone and iPad, then yeah that'll be small problem.

This is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this, OP. I was able to get it to work. The only thing that I came across was that I had to restart my Moto 360 to allow me to enter the pin code. Before doing that, the pin code screen on my iPhone would disappear too quickly.

So now I am wearing both the Moto 360 and the Apple Watch at the same time, both feeding from my iPhone. We'll see how the iPhone battery hold up.

I also heard that you can turn on Airplane mode on the moto 360 and still have access to the iPhone notifications.

If it is an apk watch face (like the Mickey one) it will work as normal. Watchmaker works for me (but I joined the Beta via Google+ and can now change watch faces on the watch by holding down the 3 oclock position.)

And replying to notifications won't work. It seems to be one way communication only.

Apparently it's an app on the Android Wear watch connecting over BLE to that iOS utility app.

The utility app subscribes to Apple Notification Center Service notifications and sends them over to the watch app.

I was only being slightly serious (though with Apple, you really never know) considering they pulled an app supposedly for mentioning compatibility with Pebble. As this app has been out on the app store for a good year and a half, I doubt they'll yank it. It does also show promise for the potential approval of an 'official' Android Wear app, though I am curious how Google will describe the app without actually mentioning Android, since Apple won't approve anything that mentions their competitor's platform by name.

Well Macrumors and many others in April stated that Google is close to finishing their Android Wear app https://www.macrumors.com/2015/04/09/google-android-wear-ios/ .

I am very hopeful this will be very feature rich as the Google search app on iPhone has the "Ok Google" built in, only when app is running, but still it works and Google's app does the text to speech, not Apple/Siri. I am hoping the Android Wear app will just take this tech and then you can talk to the Android Wear watch, it pipes the data to the app and Google's own voice to test will do its thing. Doing some Google searches on "ios api to reply to messsges" and also emails, the api's are there and can be called. So theoretically the Android Wear App can do all the voice to text and then do the sending, even if there is a need to confirm the send (read that in api examples) that can go to the watch, tap send or say ok and then away you.

I am hopefully Apple aren't *******s about this, as if Google goes with their rules, we could see a nice functional Android Wear watch we can respond to alerts with voice, search with voice (That would be gravy to push over the Google search stuff to the wear device) and then respond to other apps. Already Chinese knockoff smart watches CAN do phone calls from the wrist, so that will not be a problem. But it goes back to Apple and what they do. Frankly if apple acts like *******s, I hope Google slaps with anti-competitive claim and Google could follow through, though another court battle is not the best way to win as it takes time blah blah.

Last thing the name "Android Wear" will not fly, it will need a new name as names of competitors devices are not allowed, maybe Google Wear? I am looking forward to Google IO 2015 to see if they announce this, if so an Android Wear device will be my purchase choice. Opinions, tomatoes to throw?

I tried this last night on my G Watch R. So far it works flawlessly. In settings on the iphone (I have a 6), turn on the notifications you want, turn off the ones you do not want. I only wanted email, calendar and texts. Communication is one way (phone to watch) but that is fine. I am using a face I installed through Watchmaker and downloaded on Facerepo and it works on the watch. I do not have the Android phone on or near me (in the car as backup just in case).

I really hope Google can get a Wear app approved. I'm enjoying my Apple Watch but as with traditional watches, I like some variety. I'm literally just opening and setting up a new LG Watch Urbane to test drive/compare to the AW and in an ideal world, I'll keep both an use whatever suits my desire for that day or moment. They're quite different in appearance so I can certainly see wanting to wear one over the other for certain circumstances.

Fingers crossed for approval...but not holding my breath.
