Hey everyone,

I updated a 2007 MBP and a 2009 MBP to 10.8.2 today. My 2007 machine works with iMessages flawlessly (numbers and emails associated to my appleID showed up, etc.). However, my 2009 machine didn't show any phone number let alone an email under my logged in iMessage account. To resolve this issue, I signed out and tried to sign back in. However now I cannot sign back in.

UPDATE: It seemed to be an issue on Apple's end. A call to AppleCare fixed everything.

I either get one of two errors:

Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again.

The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later.

Steps taken:
  • Activated and deactivated iMessage on iPhone
  • Deleted all iMessage .plist files
  • Restarted all machines

This is a screenshot of the error:

So, you (or Apple) got it working?
